The curtains and curtain pole stayed up for a whole day and then fell down in the night. So it is back to square one, back up the ladder with the drill! . . .

I don’t know if you have them over there, but here there are screws and anchors specifically for concrete or other hard surfaces. Don’t know if that helps at all.
Thank you! Our problem is that the deepest hole I can drill in is barely over 2cms (which is also why even the original plastic track wouldn’t stay up). I did finally manage to get curtain poles up in the main bedroom earlier in the year, but with this window the plaster seems to be even more shallow (then there is a steel girder). I have been using some kind of industrial strength blue tack, which did work with the bedroom, to help anchor things in. I am seriously beginning to think about suspending the curtain pole from the ceiling – am just afraid that it might not be only the curtain pole that would come down if I do that!
