Glad to be home!

We got back home late yesterday and I am still unpacking and tackling the HUGE mound of washing.  We’ve got an extra dog staying for a couple of days – so wherever we turn there is a dog under our feet!

After a few days camping (in the rain!) I am delighted to be back with an indoor toilet.  So much easier!  This is how it has been when camping:

Wake with full bladder.  Try to ignore it for a while, unsuccessfully.  Finally admit defeat, pull of full set of waterproofs (remember this is in a very small tent, standing up is not possible, so putting on waterproofs is quite a test in itself), put on boots while making sure they do not come into contact with sleeping bag.  Wake Simon so he can restrain the dog.  Start climbing out of tent, fall back in.  Try again, this time emerge successfully into pouring rain.  Trudge the 200 or so metres to the toilet block.  Trudge back greatly relieved.  Climb into tent bringing in a liberal supply of rain.  Remove boots and waterproofs.  Remove dog from my sleeping bag.  Now ragingly thirsty and have to have some water thus guaranteeing a repeat of the cycle in a couple of hours time.

We had a good time, though.  I’ll put some photos up in a couple of days.  I’d better get on with the unpacking, cleaning and washing for now.
